INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – It is a very August kind of forecast for most of Indiana to start the week.
The National Weather Service is expecting hot and humid days, with highs near or above 90 degrees through at least Wednesday.
Forecasters also expect chances for strong and possibly severe storms Monday through Wednesday.
The heat index on those days will top 100 degrees in Indianapolis and most of the central part of the state.
As for us here in Fort Wayne, we start the work week with showers and thunderstorms.
The National Weather Service released the following Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northern Indiana, southwest Michigan, and northwest Ohio:
.DAY ONE…Tonight.
A shower or storm is possible by late tonight. Severe weather is not
expected..DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Monday through Saturday.
Thunderstorms are possible each day Monday through Friday. The best
chance for severe storms is Tuesday into early Tuesday night. The
storms may be accompanied by strong gusty winds and locally heavy
rain.Afternoon heat indices are expected rise to between 95 and 105
degrees at times from Monday through Thursday.
