1 woman dead, 2 others hurt during gas station shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne police say one woman is dead and two others, including a juvenile, are hurt following a gas station shooting early Sunday morning.
Police from Fort Wayne and the Allen County Sheriff’s were called to the Sunoco gas station at Hanna Street and McKinnie Avenue just before 1 a.m.
Two victims were found upon arrival. Once inside, officers found a juvenile girl inside the gas station who had been shot.

One adult female was located in a car with a gunshot wound. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition where she later died.
A man who was also shot called 911 from a house on the 4500 block of Monroe Street, after running from the scene. He is listed in serious condition.

The connection of the victims remains unclear but police say some kind of disturbance at the gas station led to the shootings.

Investigators are now trying to gather surveillance footage from nearby businesses that they hope will help.

The exact cause and manner of of the woman’s death, as well as the identity of the deceased, will be released when appropriate by the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
